The first Christmas in my life. As a girl who is raised in a Muslim family, Muslim country. I never actually celebrate Christmas in my life.

So I never know how it feels like to actually buy a Cadeau or a gift for someone except for his/her birthday. Nor someone give me gift in christmas. In Les Célariés, my first host family, we don't have to buy to all the members in the family because it will be so hard for us. So the tradition is that they make some kind of a lucky draw, which member of the family that you need to buy the gift.
There are 2 girls in the family that I'm so close to. Lehanne Kauffeisen and Leocadie Kauffeisen. They are cousins to each other. They always go to my room every Sunday (because in my host family's house we have this big lunch every Sunday when some of the big family come and eat in the house). They come to my room to take my pencil colors and my watercolor paints.
It kinda surprised me that I got the name of Leocadie. That meant that I would need to buy her present. It was 1 month before the dinner and I was panic because I don't know what to buy her. Then I bought a watercolor paint that has 2 brushes in it so that she and her friends (most of the time: Lehanne) can paint together.
I was scared that she won't like it actually. Especially when a little 3 years old kid named Scarlett opened her present and it was a really beautiful Tiara and a light blue dress. I was scared and thought how stupid I was, every little girl wants to be a princess
But then, I gave that small gift to her..........
I could see her eyes how she was so surprised and said "Bulan!? C'est toi qui me donner le cadeau?!!" it means that 'Bulan, it's you who gives me the gift?'.
And I said yes, and she looked at that small present wrapped in a green paper. She shook it a bit to hear the sound. She looked kinda disappointed due to it's small size.
But then she opened it and I was scared that she won't like it.
And she said "WHOOOOOAAAAA!!!! C'est mon prèmier peinture Bulan! Tu es geniale!". Or in English, WOW! It's my first paint Bulan! You're awesome!
And then she showed it to everyone. She started counting how many colors were there. She said: 21 COLORS WITH 2 BRUSHES?? - of course in French.
And then she kissed me and hugged me and said thank you so much.
Then she ran away, disappeared with her bestfriend, Lehanne.
I wondered where was she then I found her painting in the office of my host father, trying all of the colors and in the process of making a painting.

I wanted to cry that time. I believe that you'll be happy when you make other people happy. But, I didn't know that I would be this happy to see her smile. So I held my tears and ran to my room.
I also cried because I was thinking of the people back home. How we usually eat together in Iedul Fithri. Not this year ;)
But then, I already forgot about my gift and Auxane, my host cousin, she called me and said "Bulan, it's me who give you the gift". - Of course in French.
And then I saw this really cute photo album.

And so, typical Bulan. I wanted to cry again.
Less than 4 months. Less than 4 months people can actually feel like family.
"I intently bought the small one so you can easily bring it in you luggage or when you miss France when you go back home, you can bring it everywhere even in your pocket!"
And so..... yeah ;)
France is getting even better
